Bedug and Christmas Tree

What do u think about the pictures above?
Yeapz, it's Bedug and Christmas Tree

Okay, Let's to the point
Bedug represents me , and Christmas Tree represents  my University where I study  to get bachelor degree of Education.  Now , I'm in  Semester 8.

I really thanks to God , who give me chance to study here; in SWCU .As the time goes by, I learn a lot what actually the diversity is; and how to respect it, how I can apply the word " tolerance" , how to respect others' difference. I like the way my campus give a  shalat place to Moslem students , and allows  the female Moslem students to wear jilbab in campus.

However, I have ever met some  fanatic "people"  who said " Hey, u are moslem, why do u  study in  Christian  University?" , then I reply " What's the problem guys?  It doesn't matter where I'm study at, the important thing is that I get  the best education, and the religion is not a barrier to get best education, Okay guys please put away your small thinking and open ur mind!."

I just curious why "they" still argue about  "religion", 'they' only have small thinking  that   Moslems   must study in Islamic school , and Christians must study in Christian school. Hellllloooooooo it's INDONESIA  , known as  many  ethnics, cultures, and religions.  In my deepest heart,I think as Indonesians ; we should respect others' differences , so that there will be peaceful situation and condition in Indonesia.

Yeah , that's my OPINION. Once more, I also learn about  "HARMONY in DIVERSITY" , we have to respect others' differences, and please  don't only see something only  from the surface !

If you don't agree with my opinion, it's okay coz that's your  rights .
Yeahhhh, I write what I wanna write. Thanks  ^_^

NOPE for D.U.R.I.A.N.

Yeahhhhhhh, Howdy friends :D , I damn like this picture so much!!!!!!! Don't u agree with me?????
Yeah , Maybe u guess --> "Nchan doesn't like DURIAN", yUhhhhuuu 100 %  that's true,
I  DON'T LIKE D.U.R.I.A.N., coz its smell is so nauseating ,ummm is it called phobia of DURIAN? because when I smell it, although it's far from me , I suddenly fell wanna throw up -,-",  I also have headache  when I see the DURIAN directly.

If some of my friends eat DURIAN. I prefer go far ...far...away to be with them. So sorry friends :p. Moreover, I had unforgettable experience with DURIAN when I was Senior High School. The story told about my ex-boyfriend and I ....hahahahha. At that time, We went to canteen together, then  he bought me a cup of beverage without he asked me  what would I wanna drink. He gave it to me, and  the beverage smelt strange. Yeah , I realized that it's POP ICE DURIAN, Dang it!!!!!!!!!!!!. In my mind, I didn't wanna drink the damn beverage...huek huek. Woops, my boyfriend saw something wrong with me, and  he started to ask :

he :  " Dear, why don't u drink your beverage?" ,
I: " Nothing " ,
he : " Are you angry with me"?
 I : " No, I just don't LIKE whatever related to DURIAN!".
he:   " Ohh, so sorry dear, I don't know if you don't like DURIAN, but  try it first, it's so delicious "
I :" Nooooo, :("
he: " Please dear, I buy it for you with my deepest love, just try it , okay?
I said "eswete " in my heart..hehehe ,
I: "Okay , I'll try it , if something happen to me, you have to be responsible on this, deal?"
he : ''Okay my dear "

Yeappp, I started to drink it, and suddenly I wanna vomit , and the damn thing was that he laugh at me
and he also felt sorry on this.  Unfortunately, The taste of DURIAN couldn't disappear for 3 days in my tongue.

I can't imagine , how if I eat the "REAL DURIAN" ! Maybe, I'll fainting...LOL XD
YEAP, This story about ME and DURIAN , and how about u, guys?

My English Learning History

I learned English since 11 years old, when I was in the first grade of Junior High School. At that time, in my Junior High school, my English teacher always gave motivation to her students so that the students would not afraid to learn English. I was one of her students who were motivated in learning English. Although, I was not quite good to speak in English, I always tried to speak until I brave enough to speak in. I started to be active students in my English class. Also, I practiced my pronunciation in order to get better pronunciation in speaking.  Besides, I had positive experiences in learning English, when I was in the second grade of Junior High school ;I joined an English Speech Competition in my school, and I was the first winner in the competition. From that, I felt more motivated to learn English. Then, I also joined the private English lesson because I wanted to improve my English proficiency.

When the first time I learned English, I wanted to be like International journalist, Television Anchor, and English teacher. Being International journalist and Television Anchor were required good English proficiency and wide experiences, so I tried to improve my English proficiency in order to be International Journalist or Television Anchor. While, being an English teacher was also one of my expectations when I learned English, because the English teacher should have good ability to teach others. Why English teacher?, because  I thought the English teacher could help the Indonesian students to be international students by learning English.

Furthermore, my ideal models of English were American and British’s English speakers. They became my English models because they had good English proficiency, such as : good pronunciation in speaking. At that time, I thought they had perfect English, because English as their first language, so I believed they were master of English. Actually, I got exposed them through TV show, and songs. For instance : when I watched Oprah TV Show , Oprah Winfrey as the host had a very good American English accent, pronunciation, and intonation . In short, I liked the way Oprah Winfrey talked to the audiences or guests star in the show. Besides, being the International Journalist, Television Anchor, and English Teacher were my imagine communities. Those imagine communities also affect me on the way I learned English.  I was more motivated in learning English by watching English TV Show, English movies, and listening English songs in order to enhance my English proficiency especially in my speaking skill. Moreover, I also tried to imitate the way American and British native spoke the English word or sentences.

Learning English in the University, especially in the English Department give big chance for me to learn English deeper. My expectations  before coming to the university were I would  be able to improve my skill in English, knew the new knowledge  related to English lesson, such as ; grammar, speaking, listening, and writing lesson. Yet, I was surprised  after coming to English Department ,because I also have some of the native English lecturer and learned the literature of English itself, such as; drama, prose, poetry, and etc. Moreover, I find many special things in the English Department of Satya Wacana Christian University. Furthermore,  the lecturers give a big chance for each student to be active in a class; in this case students will be able to share their thought, opinion, argument, give question, do the presentation task, writing assignments and etc. Regarding to those things, I think materials that is given in English Department is very valuable and important in order to enrich my English proficiency.

Graduating  from the English Department with title Bachelor of English Education is my first expectation, and then I hope I can continue my language learning plans and goals. My plans are I want to continue study in learning English in Magister of English Education. The reason why I will continue my study is that I want to learn more about English, especially in English Education. From that, I will become an English teacher, so I can teach English to the Indonesian people. Then, I expect I have own English private lesson in my village. I want to the villagers also know and learn English. So, English is not only learned for people in the city, but also people in the village.

Talking about culture is very important. As I am Javanese and Indonesian, I have Javanese and Indonesian culture which should be preserved. As the time goes by, learning English affect my culture, especially in my language. In my daily conversation, I use code-mixing between English, Javanese, and Indonesia when I talk to my friends. For instance, when I say thank you to my friend, I will say “ Maturnuwun  ya, sudah menolongku, you are my best friend”, it means “ Thanks anyway, you have helped me, you are my best friend” . Regarding to my code-mixing, I think it is okay to use code-mixing as long as I know where, when, and to whom I use it.

In my view point, learning English affects 10 % on my culture, especially in the part of  languages itself.  It can be seen from the way I communicate with others, especially with my friends by using code-mixing between English and Bahasa Indonesia. Besides, English also affect my view on my culture. At first, I only view my culture as my important heritage which must be preserved in my local society. Through learning English, I also think my culture should be introduced internationally, so that there will be balance between English and my culture. All in all, it can be concluded that learning language also can affect the culture.

Senyuman 21 Lilin

Senyuman 21  Lilin
(by : Candra_Nchan ; Des 20 2012)

Teruntuk Nchem Nchum MilaMilo (one of my college' friends)
3 tahun yang lalu kita bertemu
Saling mencuri-curi pandang tersenyum tersipu malu
Sejak awal jumpa kau takut padaku
Hingga akhirnya hatimu luluh karna senyumanku
Kita lewati hari bersama
Dalam  suka dan duka
Dalam canda dan tawa
Pernah suatu masa
Kita labil dan bertengkar
Berdiam-diaman
Bercuek-cuekan
Hingga akhirnya kita baikan
Pengalaman persahabatan yang tak kan terlupakan
Sampai hayat dikandung badan
Tak terasa waktu begitu cepat berlalu
Barisan lilin rapi menghampirimu
Cahaya 21 Lilin menerangi kalbumu
Terucap iringan syair lantunan doa
Di  tanggal yang membuatmu hadir di dunia
22 DESEMBER
Menjadi saksi keberadaanmu disini
Lewat untaian sajak puisi ini
Dari relung jiwa bersenandung
“Selamat Ulang Tahun,Semoga Panjang Umur dan Sehat Selalu”
Selalu tersenyum dan maknailah stiap langkah hidupmu

TANDA  TANYA
(by :Candradewi W.A.)

Kau tahu siapa dia?
Kau tahu apakah dia?
Kau tahu mengapa dia?
Kau tahu darimana dia?
Kau tahu bagaimana dia?
Kau tahu kenapa dia?
Tapi kau tak tahu isi hatinya

Ribuan cerita kau berikan
Ribuan senandung kau nyanyikan
Ribuan puisi kau bacakan
Tapi tak secuilpun kau berani ungkapkan perasaan
Sampai kapan kau pendam?
Sampai kapan kau takut?
Sampai kapan kau pesimis?
Bangkitkan keberanianmu
Tuk uraikan isi hatimu
Bahwa  kau mencintainya

TAK TERHAPUSKAN

TAK TERHAPUSKAN

Aku seorang pengantar puisi
Seorang yang terlupakan olehmu
Aku bukan pengecut
Aku adalah seorang yang kau lupakan
Aku memiliki hati yang selalu merindukan
Senyum manismu, tawa candamu
Aku selalu berusaha tak menangis karnamu
Karena setiap tetes air mata yang jatuh
Hanya makin mengingatkanku
Betapa aku tak bisa melepasmu
Ketika kamu menutup diri
Aku tahu bukan untuk membuatku pergi
Kamu hanya ingin tahu

RASA

RASA
(by : Candradewi W.A.)

Hitam tidak selalu jahat
Putih tidak selalu baik
Berdua tidak selalu kuat
Sendiri tidak selalu rapuh
Kadang ini membingungkan
Tapi juga mengagumkan
Yang kau rasakan
Tak sama dengan yang kau pikirkan
Rasa yang kuat, tak bisa musnah
Tahukah kau rasa itu?????

Penyejuk Hati

Penyejuk Hati
(by: Candradewi W.A.)

Dia  begitu kuat
Dia begitu hebat
Kasih sayangnya tulus
Tutur katanya halus
Pelukannya sangat renyah
Selalu ada kapanpun
Baik pagi,siang,malam
Menjaga kita
Merawat kita
Mendidik kita
Hingga senyumnya
sampai tangis dan doanya
hanya untuk kita
Linangan air mata bahagia
Mengalir membasahi pipinya

Nostalgia on Academic Writing class ^__^

Nostalgia  on my beloved Academic Writing Class
English Department_SWCU ^__^

My Reflective Learning Writing

Candradewi Wahyu Anggraeni is an awesome name given by my parent. I am English Department’ student and I have enrolled four classes writing such as ;Writing 1, Writing 2, Expository & Argumentative Writing, and Academic Writing. Actually, I have learned writing since I was in Elementary School. In elementary school, I only focused on writing in Bahasa Indonesia. Besides, in Junior and Senior High School, I started to focus on writing in English. Although my English was not quite good at that time, I still kept on writing. Sometimes, I consulted my writing with my English teacher when I was in Senior High School. Moreover, I like the way my English teacher gave feedback on my writing in order to improve the quality of my writing.
Furthermore, my attitude toward writing is described in this quotation “If I fall asleep with a pen in my hand, don't remove it - I might be writing in my dreams” by Terri Guillemets. Implicitly, the quotation shows that I like writing, because through writing I can share what I am feeling without say something orally. Moreover, I can share what I am thinking to the others. For instance, turning to my personal experience, since 1 year ago I made a blog, and by blogging; I can write what I am thinking and feeling, so that I can share to the others. In my blog, I usually write about special events in my life, write poems, and short story. I enjoy write in my blog. Indeed, it can be said writing is my hobby.
I will illustrate my reflection on writing in the form a combination of words and pictures. I draw an illustration of my Academic writing course, at the beginning when I enrolled the class, and after I enrolled the class. Besides, I illustrate it like as a flower tree growth. The illustration is:
FIRST PICTURE                                                   SECOND PICTURE

Picture’ information :
BEGGINING
AFTER
# Soil = Academic Writing course
# Flower tree = myself
#Pitcher (water in pitcher) = my ideas
# Soil = Academic Writing course
# Flower tree = myself
#Pitcher (water in pitcher) = my ideas
#Flower = my writings ( my writing’s product)
#Sun = my Academic Writing ‘ lecturer

Illustrative explanation:
My illustrative reflection above is my views toward Academic Writing course. I illustrate it, such as the flower tree growth; need a process to produce many beautiful flowers. On my illustrations, I draw a soil, flower tree, flowers, pitcher, sun, and water. There are figurative meanings on those symbols. On the first picture – beginning part, I only draw a soil, tree, and pitcher. A soil represents my Academic Writing Course; a flower tree represents me when I enrolled the Academic Writing class at the first time. Then, a pitcher (water in a pitcher) symbolizes my ideas to write papers in Academic Writing course. Yet, the pitcher is still on the ground, it reflects that I still want to find my brilliant ideas that would be pouring in my writing. Indeed, in the first illustration, I want to show is that at the beginning of my Academic writing class, I still don’t have enough background knowledge how to write a good Academic writing.
Furthermore, in the second illustration-after part, I draw a flower tree which shows its beautiful growth, while the sun shines brightly on the flower tree and the water’ pitcher watering on it, so that the flower tree will flourish and produce many awesome flowers. This illustration reflects an important process is that after I enrolled and enjoy the Academic Writing class, I feel the development on myself toward writing, especially in mastering the Academic Writing materials. Moreover, the sun represents my lecturer when she gives feedback on my writing and gives explanation on the Academic Writing materials, so that I can improve my writing. My Academic Writing’ lecturer shines brightly on me with her advices, feedback, and teaching. I am also watered by my ideas, so that I can produce many gorgeous flowers (my writings) such as;  9 reflective journals, individual assignments, group assignments, first draft, final draft, and portfolio. All in all, in my point of view; Writing is like a flower tree which needs the sun, water, fertile soil, to grow and produce beautiful flowers (a good writing) that are useful for others.

Awesome Micro Teaching ^_^

My friends and I (I'm in the center) ..hehehe

Yeaaahhhh, this picture taken on November 26 2011 in Salatiga_Lab. It was my  3rd mini lesson in my micro teaching class.  Micro Teaching is one of the subject in my English Department_Satya Wacana Christian University ;that help the students to be a good English teacher. Moreover, it's once of requirement subjects that should be taken before Teaching Practicum. Besides,  I got many lesson in this class, such as how to make Lesson Plan , manage the classroom, made re-usable AVA (Audio Visual Aids) for teaching

Teaching, Teaching,and Teaching

“Teaching is reminding others that they know just as well as you. You are all learners, doers, and teachers.” This awesome quotation by Richard Bach inspired me on   my view point toward the term of “teaching”.
My first impression toward the word “teaching” was the process of explaining material to the students.  I did the first teaching when I took TEFL (Teaching English as Foreign Language) class in the fourth semester.  There was TEFL’ final project that required the students to work in group and made lesson plan and applied the lesson plan in group teaching. At that time, I thought teaching was not difficult because my group and I only made the simple lesson plan and applied it in the classroom.  Besides, the students were my college friends who acted as Junior High school students, and some of them noise in the class, so that my group (as the teachers) should advise them.
Furthermore, my second impression about teaching was the process of delivering material, managing the classroom, and advises the students. I got this impression when I had awesome chance to teach English private course for Elementary school students. I realized that teaching the “real students” was difficult. Instead of delivering the material, I had to manage the classroom, advises the student, and be patient in facing trouble maker students.
Moreover, my third impression toward teaching was the process of delivering material, making the lesson plan, manage the classroom, having time management, creating interesting activities, and making re-usable AVA. Those marvelous teaching impression that I have got in my beloved Micro Teaching class taught me a lot what actually the application of the word ‘teaching’. I got many lesson in my micro teaching class, such as; I had to be confident in teaching, be more creative in making re-usable AVA, how I made well-planned lesson, how to assess or gave comments to other friends’ teaching. All in all, the important thing in teaching is I have to teach with my peaceful heart which means that I have to deliver the material well, give inspiration for my students, and always make interesting activities.  In short, I love teaching and I want to be a super grade A+ English teacher.

"TRANSFORM"

Yeah, this's an marvelous picture taken on Tuesday, November 29 2011. This's not studio photos, It's the greatest drama class performance that my friends and I  acted in. My group drama performance was   the drama  class' s final project  in Semester 7 _ English Department_Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga, Central Java. Moreover,  my  group had to make own script story and performed it in the  class. Besides, we also had  rehearsals for many times, therefore, it would help us to have awesome performance.

The drama was told about A story of a little girl, who was under-pressured at home, then became an adult by drinking a magical potion. After she had a fight with her mom, she decided to run away from her house. Accidentally, she found a strange professor’s house, which was known because of her magical invention of potion. Because of her curiosity, she stole a potion which could turn a child into an adult instantly. After she ran away from the professor’s house, she went to a park and drank the potion. Amazingly, it worked. She turned into an adult in one night. Unfortunately, she wanted to be a child again but she could not. She remained being an adult.

Furthermore, the starring  were :
CANDRA Nchan (me) --> Prof. Shirius  (  white coat, black jilbab)
RANI Cinox           --> Tari ( teenager) ( blue jilbab near the tree)
ENGGAR Onew      ---> Tari (adult)       (blue jilbab)
MAULIDA Ncho    --->  Shasya             ( pink jilbab)
GALUH                   ---> Elvy                  ( smile , and wear glasses )

This drama  taught me a lot on  how to work in group, made own script ,memorize the  dialogues , acted, made  art-set for drama, found the suitable back sounds music, and the most important thing was that  it helped me to be  more confident .
I have a  plan to upload the video of  this drama in you tube, however, I will  edit the video first , after it's   fix , I will post it as soon as possible :D ,
Okay, here I also thanks to my beloved  casts and crews " TRANSFORM" drama -->  Rani Sinox,  Enggar, Maulida, Galuh, Mila Nchem,  Mbak Cerizt , because all of u  WE could perform a SUCCESSFUL   drama performance.

IBU

IBU

Dalam  kelembutan kasihmu
Membelai relung jiwaku
Semerbak harumnya bunga kasih sayangmu
Membuatku semakin merindukanmu

Aliran air mata yang membasahi pipiku
Menandakan aku selalu ingin dipelukmu
Kau jauh disana
Ku tak bisa merasakan tulusnya kasihmu
IBU, ku ingin memelukmu
Merasakan hangatnya cintamu
IBU, tiada hal yang paling romantis, ketika Ibu bilang
“Jaga diri kamu baik-baik disana, jangan lupa Ibadah”
IBU,andai kau tahu
Aku sangat merindukanmu
